November's going to be one hectic month!

Now that it's official November (can you believe it already? Shannon may be right about those Time Goblins), everyone's buzzing about NaNoWriMo. If you haven't heard of it already, NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month where for the entire month of November, hopeful writers attempt to bang out a finished manuscript in thirty days or less.

Forget about writing the perfect novel. (That's what editing's for.) Just write the damn thing first!

I won't be joining the NaNoWriMo craze this year but I wish you luck if you are. And a bit of advice? Don't even worry about finishing your first draft--the point of this event is to kick your butt into gear and to get your creative juices flowing. If you do manage to finish your first draft within the month though, more power to ya.
For those of you that won't be jumping onto the NaNo bandwagon, you'll have plenty of time to enter Kelly Oram's generous giveaway.* For each week of November, she'll be giving away an autographed copy of her novel, Being Jamie Baker. (I linked her post about the giveaway details if you'd like to find out more)

I realize I've been kind of bombarding you guys with posts lately and I'll explain in a post to come. For now, please bear with me!

*Well. NaNo peeps can enter it too but you'll be kind of busy furiously writing out your stories...

  3. I SWEAR I've heard of Jamie Baker before!!! But nothing's coming to mind. Darn it.

Ahh, not participating in NanoWrimo either. Haven't done that...yet. Maybe next year when I'll have time to write. :D It sounds soooo fun, and I've got so many ideas in my mind already!

  4. I'm participating in NaNo, this is my first year! It's hard not to go back and edit, but I think I can skip it for a month ;)
