In My Mailbox 10

Meet Jasmine forensic supersleuth and unwitting victim of a naughty feline.
All Jasmine really wants is to enjoy her family vacation in Las Vegas. And avoid her evil cousin Alyson and Alyson's best fiend, Veronique. And show her suspicious dad that she can be a Model Daughter. And maybe meet the hot guy she's been eyeing from across the pool. It that too much to ask? Apparently, yes. One moment she's an innocent bylounger, the next the central figure in a Las Vegas-sized mystery. Fortunately, Jasmine is both a forensics enthusiast and possessed of some very, well, special friends. Polly, Tom, and Roxy crash the vacation, BeDazzle Jasmine's wardrobe, and find themselves key players in the most outrageous adventure in a town known for outrageous adventures.
All because of a very bad kitty
.

An extraordinary debut novel of love that survives the fires of hell and transcends the boundaries of time.On a burn ward, a man lies between living and dying, so disfigured that no one from his past life would even recognize him. His only comfort comes from imagining various inventive ways to end his misery. Then a woman named Marianne Engel walks into his hospital room, a wild-haired, schizophrenic sculptress on the lam from the psych ward upstairs, who insists that she knows him – that she has known him, in fact, for seven hundred years. She remembers vividly when they met, in another hospital ward at a convent in medieval Germany, when she was a nun and he was a wounded mercenary left to die. If he has forgotten this, he is not to worry: she will prove it to him.And so Marianne Engel begins to tell him their story, carving away his disbelief and slowly drawing him into the orbit and power of a word he'd never uttered: love.

Polly Madassa is convinced she was born for a more romantic time. A time when Elizabeth Bennet and Anne of Green Gables walked along the moors and beaches of the beautiful, wild land. A time when a distinguished gentleman called upon a lady of quality, and true love was born in the locked eyes of two young lovers.
But alas, she was not.
This however does not stop our young heroine from finding romance wherever she can conjure it up. So while Polly is burdened with the summer job of delivering baked goods from her parents bakery (how delightfully quaint!) to the people in her small beach town, she finds a way to force…um…encourage romance to blossom. She is determined to bring lovers, young and old, together…whether they want to be or not.
Thought I'd do my IMM post today instead of this weekend since I'm trying to pay full attention to my current book and I'm STILL writing out reviews ( I know, I suck.) I got very side-tracked yesterday, catching up on season 3 of The Secret Life. Love that show♥ Oh, and I somehow managed to line up the books in an orderly manner. Don't ask how, whatever I did seemed to work...
sidenote: two amazing contests goinon! this is one for Catching Fire! And the second one is going on here, so check it out! If you DO enter, please say that Sandy from Pirate Penguin's Reads referred you! We'll both get extra points ;)

  3. The Gargoyle sounds really interesting. I'm actually studying schizophrenia in my Psych class right now, and it's an intriguing and heartbreaking disease. The cover is amazing!

Scones and Sensibilities sounds really cute! I'm wondering whether it has much to do with Sense and Sensibility.

I'm glad you were able to figure out the picture thing! :)

  10. Yup! Sidebars are totally fine. Thanks!
Personally, I think I'm gonna wait to see if I won any of the contests I entered for Mr. Darcy, Vampyre before I go out and buy it. I haven't really spent much time in the B&N book club, so it's still really confusing to me to. Which reminds me that I really need to finish Under this Unbroken Sky. It's good, very good, it just is taking some time to get into.

I didn't take the summer off from school. I'm hoping to graduate a year early, and I always get bored with summer like 2 weeks in, so I just decided to keep taking classes online. Hopefully, I'll be a senior next year! xD

My cousin and I were talking about the Twilight Saga, and he said that after they make the movies they should totally make a short parody where Bella dies from choking on a peanut. Twilight is so easy to make fun of, but I did enjoy it, overall. My first thought when I read the synopsis of The Host was that one of the character's names is Melanie. I've never read a book with my name in it before! I'm weird. :D

  15. I'm not too fanatical about any of the books you listed. mostly because I had never heard of them before now. I saw a vlog that included Scones and Sensibility, but that's about it. I read up some more about it on Goodreads. It sounds like it'll be fun.
