2010 Debut Author Challenge

The 2010 Debut Author Challenge is being hosted by Kristi from The Story Siren.

Directly from The Story Siren:
What is the 2010 Debut Author Challenge?

The objective is to read a set number of YA (Young Adult) or MG (Middle Grade) novels from debut authors published this year. I'm going to challenge everyone to read at least 12 debut novels! I’m hoping to read at least 30! You don’t have to list your choices right away, but if you do feel free to change them throughout the year. I will also be focusing on mostly Young Adult novels. Anyone can join, you don’t need a blog to participate. If you don’t have a blog you can always share your views by posting a review on Amazon.com/BarnesandNoble.com/GoodReads/Shelfari, or any other bookish site. The challenge will run from January 1, 2010- December 31, 2010. You can join at anytime!

The rest of the 2010 challenge information can be found here.

It looks like 2010 is going to be the year for awesome debut novels! I'm not sure how many I'll be reading for this challenge exactly but here's a few that I've got in mind. The titles in bold have already been read and will be reviewed soon, the italic-ed(?) titles I will receive at some point to review and the rest... well, I'm hoping for them :)

1. A Match Made in High School by Kristin Walker
2. The Secret Year by Jennifer R. Hubbard
3. The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting*
4. The DUFF by Kody Keplinger
5. Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus
6. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
7. The Cinderella Society by Kay Cassidy
8. Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves
9. The Naughty List by Suzanne Young
10. Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken
11. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
12. Anna and The Boy Masterpiece by Stephanie Perkins
13. The Ghost and The Goth by Stacey Kade
14. Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore
15. Plain Kate by Erin Bow

*I have this one with me. I'm planning on starting it as soon as I finish & review my current read.

This list isn't set in stone; it may change (i.e. it will probably get longer... ). I'm missing a few titles but I'd rather not construct an entire list just yet. I'm not sure yet if I'll be reading other middle-grade novels... but we'll see! I'M SO EXCITED ;D

  13. This challenge sounds fun, and I love finding new authors to read, but it might be hard for me to get a hold of enough new material. The other one will be easier because basically everything counts! Great list, though! Brightly Woven sounds really good. =)
