In My Mailbox 20

I have to admit, my week was very rewarding when it came to getting books. I did not expect to get so many good ones! So here's what I got:

Bought from B&N:

Perfect Chemistry! I think I'm the only person that hasn't read this book. (or swooned over its male protagonist) Just about 90% of the reviews I've read for this book have raved about Alex, the sexy bad boy. I wonder if I'll like him though.

Received in the mail for Around The World Tours:

I love ARC tours. I really, really do. x)

Now, the books I mentioned above look really great and I'm super excited to start them but.... here's the real reason why I'm SO HAPPY right now.

I finally went to the infamous Strand Bookstore and after circling the store for two, maybe three hours? I finally found what I went to the city for.  I found treasure ARCS! I found Brightly Woven first. When I saw it sitting on the shelf, I just about died with happiness. Good thing not many people saw me: I danced around and grinned like a total fool. But once my book-induced euphoria excitement faded just a little bit, the obsessive determination to find MORE books set in. I scoured the section and dug up two more literary gems ARCS. I could not believe my luck. I left the city with a huge smile on my face and a skip to my step. :)

So... I've shared my finds this week. What's in your mailbox?

  6. Ah, Perfect Chemistry... I was seriously at Barnes and Noble today and held it in my hands trying to decide whether or not I was going to buy it. I've been wanting to read it for such a long time. But then I saw Need by Carrie Jones on the next shelf and the cover had me hypnotized so I bought it instead... xD

My dad wants to take me to New York City next December. Is Strand Bookstore someplace worth going to while I'm there?

Okay, stupid question right here, but I gotta ask. You said you found ARCS. Does that mean books or soemthing or what? lol. Sorry, it's just I hear that in different blogs and I'm always like, "what does that mean??" xD

  8. Love is the Higher Law is a gorgeous book and so touching. Maybe it's just because I AM in New York, but that book will always stick with me.

  9. I am SO jealous that you went to The Strand! I think I'd just die. Right there next to the arc shelf. It would be so anticlimatic.

PERFECT CHEMISTRY will rock your socks off. If it doesn't, there is something wrong with you. :/

I just read BRIGHTLY WOVEN and I've read SING ME TO SLEEP, both are great novels. I have not read LOVE IS THE HIGHER LAW yet, but I've heard good things... very good things. :)

  10. Strands sound pretty awesome. How are they able to only charge half price? That's insane but amazing for people who shop their.
Ah, okay well that makes sense. I didn't know they let out copies that haven't of had final editing done. That's a pretty sweet deal. LOL

  21. Glad you got a chance to go to the Strand! I found their ARC section over a year ago, and then I found their adult fiction ARC section. It's downstairs in the back, near the law books. I love that store. I've spent hours upon hours there. There are some nice finds in the 50 cent carts outside too. Happy reading!

  23. lol, niiiiiiice finds on the ARCs. I'm cautiously optimistic about Brightly Woven. (I try not to hype myself up too much on new releases of authors I don't know, in fear of being disappointed.)

    Anyhow, have fun reading~
