Waiting On Wednesday

How do you come back from the point of no return?
Seth McCoy was the last person to see his best friend Isaac alive, and the first to find him dead. It was just another night, just another party, just another time where Isaac drank too much and passed out on the lawn. Only this time, Isaac didn’t wake up.

Convinced that his own actions led to his friend’s death, Seth is torn between turning his life around . . . or losing himself completely. Then he meets Rosetta: so beautiful and so different from everything and everyone he’s ever known. But Rosetta has secrets of her own, and Seth will soon realize he isn’t the only one who needs saving . . .(Release Date: October 5th, 2010)

Freefall looks (and sounds) intense! Very excited for this one, even if it's going to be a while until it comes out. Have you read the author's bio? Mindi Scott is a very interesting person :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn't think she's the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She's also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her "Duffy," she throws her Coke in his face.
But things aren't so great at home right now. Desperate for a distraction, Bianca ends up kissing Wesley. And likes it. Eager for escape, she throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with Wesley.
Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out that Wesley isn't such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she's falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone. (Release Date: September 7th, 2010)

I have high hopes for this one. It sounds so, so, so good and I cannot wait!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Princess Una of Parumvir has come of age and will soon be married. She dreams of a handsome and charming prince, but when the first suitor arrives, she finds him stodgy and boring. Prince Aethelbald from the mysterious land of Farthestshore has traveled far to prove his love--and also to bring hushed warnings of danger. A dragon is rumored to be approaching Parumvir.

Una, smitten instead with a more dashing prince, refuses Aethelbald's offer--and ignores his warnings. Soon the Dragon King himself is in Parumvir, and Una, in giving her heart away unwisely, finds herself in grave danger. Only those courageous enough to risk everything have a hope of fighting off this advancing evil. (Release Date: July 1st,  2010)

WOW. What a breath-taking cover! I'm tempted to resketch the image and paint it... I wonder, are dragons the "new" thing? It went from vampires to fairies to zombies to werewolves to angels to...dragons? What are your thoughts on these trends? I think it's kind of cool how we jump from different types of mythical/supernatural creatures but I always wonder how these trends start. And what might be the next trend? Mermaids? Banshees? Chipmunks? ;P

  8. Haha, yes, Sheepy! :D

And, wow, I haven't heard of Heartless yet, though this was also the first time I actually read The Duff's summary... and I want it NOW! As for the dragon trend, I think the last time I read a real dragon book was Eragon, so it'll definitely be interesting to see where that goes. P:

  9. Haha, I know! Cutest puppy ever = greater chance for forgiveness, right? -nudge nudge-

And, lol, I'll add an extra entry for sort of "following" yourself, since it's not really fair that you get one less entry than everyone else. :)
