More awards, more smiles (part 1)

So I've received a bunch more awards in the past weeks but being that I'm lazy, I haven't gotten around to posting them. Some are old, some are new but still...every time I get nominated my heart does a happy dance. I can't remember the exact amount of awards I won but I'll be posting the new ones only. Thank you to everyone that nominated me for the older awards though<3

Here's a new one that I haven't seen before! The Happy 101 Award where I list ten things that make me happy. So here goes:
1.) Being healthy *
2.) Going to school **
3.) Books ***
4.) Family
5.) Lasting friendships
6.) Good movies
7.) Meaningful music
8.) Homemade food
9.) Handwritten letters
10.) Old-fashioned romances

*What would one do without good health? It's so important!
**no matter how many times I complain, I'm grateful for the fact that I'm able to receive an education. Knowledge is power, after all.
*** this one should be obvious, right?

I'll pass this award on to the next ten bloggers:

Ohh La La Award

I haven't dedicated a post to an award in a while... I thought this one was really cute (and therefore worthy of getting a post). This was given to me by Zombie Girrrl. Thanks girl! :) It even came with some fun survey-like questions...

Where is your favorite place to read?
Anywhere's fine but I usually like to curl up on my couch. Sometimes I lay back on my couch and let my legs dangle off the armrest. xD

Bookmarks or dog ears?
BOOKMARKS. My friends know that if they even slightly bend a page from one of my books, they will get hell from me. That's why we have bookmarks!! :P

What's the best book you've read so far this year?
Agh... that's really hard since I've read so many good ones. I will say that the one that's surprised me the most this year was The Cinderella Society by Kay Cassidy. Beneath its chick-lit exterior there was a great empowering message for us girls ;)

Do you like to snack while reading, and if so, what is your favorite snack?
Not really. Reading actually keeps me away from food; I'll only detach myself from a book when my stomach's screaming for food.

Book borrower or book collector?
Both although I borrow books more than buy. My library is my treasure vault of books and sometimes my friends buy books that I've been curious to read. They're kind enough to lend them to me. :)

I don't know how many people I'm supposed to give this out to so I'll choose a handful of peeps:
Taschima*
Eli
Zombie Girrrl
(all of you already got this but you didn't get it from ME specifically. xD)
Bri
Melanie
Alba
Kate

*Did you know that Taschima is having a bloody good holiday blowout over at her site? She's giving away a ton of great prizes so you should definetely head on over there... and say that I mentioned you! It'll help us both mkay? ;)

Honest Scrap Award

This is the Honest Scrap Award. It is for those bloggers who write from the heart. The rules are to pass it along to seven bloggers and then list 10 honest things about myself. Here are those deserving of this honour, bloggers who write from the heart and touch me because of it.
I was given this award by Arielle over at B.A.M. Book Reviews. So thank you!  Oh, and I only chose five bloggers for this one. Please don't be mad if I didn't select you! You're all winners in my book ;) I'm going to give this to:

Now for ten honest things about myself:
1. My middle name was supposed to be my first.
2. I put a lot of sentimental value into my books
3. I've always had this dream of becoming a YA author :)
4. I'm always worrying about how I write my reviews
5. I'm my own worst critic (see above)
6. I considered becoming a flight attendant..but decided not to because I think airplane food sucks.
7. I think becoming a book blogger's the best thing I could've ever done for myself :D
8. I want to learn more languages! (Arabic and French, specifically)
9. Shakira inspired me to want to bellydance xD
10. I think real life boys should act like the ones I read in books (imagine a Sarah Dessen boy in the flesh? Sa-wooooon!)

Sidenote: I did a guest post over at The Tainted Poet. You should check it out ;)

New awards that I haven't gotten around to

So glad I got this one! Onto my nominees:
B-Beautiful: The Book Pixie
I-Informative: Steph Su Reads
N-Neighbourly: Melanie's Musings
G-Gorgeous: The Tainted Poet

This award was given to me by both Kate and Teens Read and Write. :D

I hadn't seen this one before until Kate passed it on to me. So thanks Kate! ;)
This award is meant to pat on the back the ones paying particular attention to their blog presentation, and god knows some of them looks awesome! Of course none of them are pretty empty shells, so there's no shame to mention how nice their blogs are!
Here are the rules:
1. Post the award on your blog, with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link. (Yup, yup. Kate's name is mentioned twice ;D)
2. Pass the award to 5 other blogs that your particularly like. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
1. Eli

butterflies!

Awarded to me by Taschima! All I know is that I have to choose seven blogs that I like very much.
1. Eli
2. Taschima
3. Bri
4. Melanie
5. Lizzy
6. Sarbear
7. Liyana

<3 these blogs.

Also.... I want to thank everyone for the positive feedback on my review for Hush Hush! Every comment means the world for me :) I can't wait until the book is officially out. (I can only imagine the slew of reviews that'll pop up in the blogosphere...) I'll especially look forward to all the reactions to Patch... I still lurve him and hopefully there will be others that share my appreciation for him. Hmm, maybe I could be the president of the "We Love Patch!" Club? xD!

It's Saturday (again?!)

Why is time moving ahead at top speed? It felt like it was last Saturday yesterday. (or is it just me?) Alright, so I was nominated for the Spread The Love Award by Danni, but since I don't know the rules either, I'll do it my way :)
I choose...
4. Lizzy
Hope everyone has a good weekend! And I can't wait to see your IMM posts! I know I'm excited to post mine up x)

Award time :)

The rules are simple: pick seven favorite things, then nominate seven favorite blogs.

Favorite things:

3. As of late, bellydancing music. xD

5. fun/fuzzy/colorful scarves
6. people that have interesting tattooes (Skulls n' Roses is so generic! The other day I saw a man drive past my car with a trail of cute-yet-beautifully drawn fish swimming up his forearm. I was impressed.)

Blogs (I'm cheating and only choosing five):

2. OMG! Books!

Instead of Waiting on Wednesday...

I've been slacking in collecting my awards. I thought I only had maybe two but then the list started growing. This penguin was SURPRISED at how many people nominated her! I'm going to try to list them all in this one little post. So here goes:

I received the Kreativ Blogger award from Jess, (who I remember fondly as the first blogger ever to give me any sort of attention. She's shown her kindness to me again! So thank you♥), Eli and Rocs, a newcomer that I'm happy to have met :)

The Lemonade Award from Kate at Never Ending Bookshelf and Sarbear from My Life is an Effing Fairy Tale (she's been great! She's the one that found the pirate penguin pic for you all to awww at)

The Spread the Love award from Danni at Romantic Harbor

The Heartfelt Award from both Eli & Taschima

The Butterfly Award from Taschima

Wow. I'm touched! Thank you everyone for the recognition...it means so much you guys! it gives me incentive to continue. :D Since I seem to keep getting the Lemonade & Kreativ Blogger Award, I'll repost them and select new people for it. It's time I give new bloggers recognition as well. As for the NE W awards...I'll have to dedicate posts to them in the future. I think that for this week I'll alternate between reviews and award posts (since I won't be posting an IMM post. I don't have any new books to share). By the way, could you check of my review of Map of the Known World? I finally put it up xD. And guess what....I finally have Hush Hush in my possession. My mom handed me the package yesterday and I was not expecting it! I didn't notice that it was sitting on the steps of my door. SO YAYYYYYYYY! *jumps around gleefully* I kept looking it over reverently and my mom just shakes her head, lol.

Teaser Tuesdays

"I do not think it is a thing to be done lightly. I will take human blood only when I have found my companion, the one who will be by my side for all eternity." She looked up at him gravely.
Stefan smiled at her, feeling light-headed and bursting with pride. He could scarely contain the happiness he felt at that moment. But that was before his brother Damon had returned from the University. Before Damen had come back and seen Katherine's jewel-blue eyes.
-Vampire Diaries, pg 71.
I can't wait for the WB series. It looks good (including the guy who plays Stefan *drools*). I received another nomination for the Your Blog Rocks! awards by Lizzy. Thanks! :) Ooooh, today was different. I was up at five (shocking!), did my morning routine and flew out the door with my mom so I could arrive to my advising appointment at college on time. I made a mess of my scheduele, but whatevs. I can change it later. x3 I liked the advisor who attended me. She was like, "My goodness, *looks over papers* you're so bright! You're one of the smartest I've ever seen". Outwardly I was modest and quiet but inside I was going BOOYAH! and having a party.
Ahem. So I'm officially college-bound and actually excited about it! I was pouring through the course catalogue, checking out the classes available. (There's one called Death & Dying. Hmmm, do I sense a theme? Vampires=death) Even the history of Rock n' Roll! xD I'll be paying special attention to another book I received as well. The *shudder* driver's manual. I'm finally on the road (no pun intended) to getting my permit and then, driver's license. I kinda have to since I can't bum off a ride from mom forever...and it'd be pathetic at this point. My mom was like, "Welcome to reality!"
Haha.

Awards make a girl happy

I can't get them aligned. Someone tell me how? I'm sure that once I get the answer, I'm going to want to smack myself. It's probably really easy. xD... but anyways. I'm so happy that I get these awards (not just because of the awards themselves, although it's nice. :D) because it tells me that you guys actually take your time to come here, read what I write and be kind enough to respond! So thank you!

#1: The Lemonade Award. (Given to me by Briana and 21, its rules are that I nominate ten other bloggers. Sigh...it's so hard! I like all of you!)

#2: The Humane Award: this award is to honor certain bloggers that are kindhearted individuals. They regularly take part in my blog and always leave the sweetest comments. If it wasn't for them, my site would just be an ordinary book review blog. Their blogs are also amazing and are tastefully done on a daily basis. I thank them and look forward to our growing friendship through the blog world. Nominate ten bloggers you feel deserve the Humane award. (also given to me by 21!)

#3: The Your Blog Rocks! Award: Also awarded to me by 21 (I can't say thank you enough!); this one was actually made by her. How cool is that?! Apparently no rules are tied to this one, just pass it on to people you think deserve it.

Aaaah, I can't think up of a list of twenty different people to shell out awards to! This is what I get for procrastinating! Since I don't feel like doing just that, I'm tweaking things a bit by shortening the list considerably. I'm not even picking ten bloggers: The list below is of all the bloggers I'm nominating for all the awards I've received. (I'm sorry if this is the 3rd, 4th, 5th! time you've received the same award. But know for sure that you definetely deserve it!)

1. Eli: The Tainted Poet
2. Taschima: Bloody Bookaholic
3. Briana: The Book Pixie
4. 21: Crackin' Spines.
5. Melanie: Melanie's Musings
6. ZAC: Dirty Pages
7. Liyana LiyanaLand!

All of you are wonderful and each of your blogs make me smile. ;)

An award and my lame explanation for why I was MIA for a while

This is a meme & here are the rules: If you accept it, you are supposed to list seven of your favorite things and nominate seven blogs that deserve this award.

Awarded by Taschima. (thanks chica! by the way, congrats on the 104 followers! that's incredible!) ;)

Apologies for the lack of updating! Ever since this Friday, my life's been hectic. Especially yesterday. This past Saturday I graduated. You're now reading the blog of a HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE. Huzzah! *wootwoot* The actual graduating ceremony is boring and not at all like the movies! (speaking of which, has anybody seen the trailer for I love you, Beth Cooper? I'm intrigued.) Not that I'm naive enough to believe everything I watch; I was just expecting...more. I didn't even cry. I'm still waiting for those tears, hah. I just came home from a KICKASS grad party hosted by my childhood best friend. I ate like a pig and danced the calories off by tuning into my inner latina dance goddess. Ay ay ay! xD On to my seven favorite things....

1. Books. (duh.)
2. Bread. (Me ♥ carbs!)
3. The world of blogspot. (I wouldn't have an outlet to rant about the books I read nor would I know the awesome people I've met)
4. Dimitri from Vampire Academy. (do I need to explain?)
5. Curly hair. (I think it's so cute!)
6. Libraries & book stores. (these places feed my addiction. thank'ee!)
7. Tea. (mmm, relaxation)

Please ignore my abuse of paranthesis' (sp? oh, here I go again!) ...on to the seven blogs:
1. Bloody Bookaholic
2. The Tainted Poet
3. The Book Pixie
4. Melanie's Musings
5. LiyanaLand!
6. Dirty Pages
7. The Book Blogger

I had such a good day today...I feel too lazy to continue so I'm gonna go pass out on my bed now. Peace!
