Teaser Tuesdays

"Fanny!" said her mother, as they drove away, "we will be civil to these Hales: but don't form one of your hasty friendships with the daughter. She will do you no good, I see. The mother looks very ill, and seems a nice, quiet kind of person. "

"I don't want to form any friendship with Miss Hale, mamma," said Fanny, pouting. "I thought I was doing my duty by talking to her, and trying to amuse her. "

"Well! At any rate John must be satisfied now."

And so the fun begins! An excerpt from North & South (mentioned in my last post).
I can't wait to get to this part!!! x)

  1. Can't wait to read this. I'm not sure if Caleb was the one saying the lines in mine or not. lol. Cranford is by Elizabeth Gaskell, author of North and South. It is about a small town called Cranford. There is romance and all sorts of things in it. Yeah the BBC P&P is far better than the one with Keira Knightley, even though I like her as an actress.

  3. Definitely! I’m hoping to get a hold of the movie North & South soon. I was on YouTube looking at some excerpts, and it looks great!

Romeo and Juliet is definitely overdone. I wanted to knock Romeo’s head off most of the time. He’s such a ladies’ man! I really want to read Macbeth. My dad memorized this quote from it in high school, and he still remembers it!

You know Spanish well enough to be able to read plays? I took Spanish 1 this past year in school, and I’m hoping to take Spanish 2 the upcoming year. I love the sound of it. I can’t roll the r’s for the life of me, though. :D

So, you like the BBC version of P&P better? Personally, I’ve never been able to pick. I think they’re both great! What’s your reasoning?
